The matter of appointment of IG Islamabad has been resolved

The issue of appointment of Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police has been resolved, Ali Nasir Rizvi will take charge of IG Islamabad after the by-election.

Police sources say that Ali Nasir Rizvi will be relieved as DIG Operations soon, while the names of Rana Ayaz Saleem and Faisal Kamran have been considered for the new DIG Operations.

Sources say that the names of Shahzad Bukhari and CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani are also included.

The notification of appointment of Ali Nasir Rizvi as IG Islamabad was issued on March 30.

Police sources say that currently 3 DIGs posted in Islamabad are senior to Ali Nasir Rizvi.
