The Power Division denied the reports of imposing fixed tax on solar power.

The statement issued in this regard said that there is no truth in the news of imposition of fixed tax on solar power, the Central Power Purchasing Agency or the Power Division has not sent any such summary to the government.

The Power Division has said in a statement that rich people are installing solar panels in abundance. Including domestic and industrial consumers, the government is also having to pay a burden of Rs 1.90 paisa in the form of subsidy.

According to the statement, as a result, about two and a half to three crore poor consumers are affected, this Rs 1.90 goes out of the pockets of the poor and into the pockets of the middle and rich class.

The statement said that if this trend continues, the bills of poor consumers will increase by at least Rs 3.35 per unit. The net metering policy of 2017 was aimed at promoting alternative energy in the system.

The statement said that after 2017, solarization has increased very rapidly, now there is a need to give a new rate, we are studying this whole system.

The statement added that proposals and amendments are being considered to protect the investment of 1.5 to 2 lakh net-metered customers to save the poor from further burden.
