The United Nations observer declared Israel guilty of war crimes
The BBC compiled an investigative report on the shooting of two Palestinian children by Israeli soldiers
London: The British media compiled an investigative report on the killing of a Palestinian child by an Israeli soldier, after which the United Nations observer declared Israel guilty of war crimes.
According to BBC, on November 29, 2023, Israeli soldiers shot and killed 2 children, 15-year-old Basil and 8-year-old Adam, in the occupied West Bank.
The BBC investigated the conduct of Israeli security forces in the West Bank in the wake of the incident, collecting mobile phone and CCTV footage, information on Israeli army movements, and taking witness statements. And a detailed investigation of the crime scene, including measurements, was conducted, all of which provided evidence of serious human rights violations.
After reviewing the evidence obtained by the BBC, UN Special Representative for Human Rights and Counter-Terrorism Ben Saul was forced to say that Adam’s death appeared to be a “war crime”.
Another legal expert, Dr Lawrence Hill Cawthorne, called the incident an “indiscriminate” use of lethal force by Israel.
