Torrential rain in Dubai, the day darkened

There were heavy rains in the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where it became dark during the day.

According to Arab media, due to heavy rains, there is a flood situation in different areas of Dubai due to which the roads became ponds.

UAE authorities have urged people to stay at home and only leave their homes for essential work.

Officials also asked the public to park their vehicles and motorcycles at a higher ground away from high water.

According to Arab media, schools have been brought online immediately while all government employees have been instructed to work from home for the next two days.

Due to the rain, many vehicles were swept away in the water, while the windshields of many vehicles were also broken due to heavy hailstorm. Apart from this, there were also complaints of power outage in some areas.

On the other hand, as a result of heavy rains in Oman, many areas in the north and east are facing flooding.

Due to weather conditions, work in offices has been suspended in 5 provinces, authorities have instructed people to work from home.

17 people died in various accidents, most of them were school children when their vehicle was swept away in the flood. More rains are also predicted in Oman.
