US welcomes Pak-IMF staff level agreement

US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller has welcomed the staff level agreement between the IMF and Pakistan.

Matthew Miller said in a press briefing that Pakistan has made progress to stabilize its economy, supporting Pakistan’s efforts to manage its debt burden.

He said that Pakistan’s finance minister is in Washington for meetings with IMF and World Bank officials

Our support for Pakistan’s economic success is unwavering, encouraging the prioritization of economic reforms to address economic challenges.

Matthew Miller said that we will continue to engage with Pakistan through trade, investment and technical agreements, which are the priorities of our bilateral relations.

The spokesperson of the US State Department said that Pakistan and India are encouraged to avoid tension, Pakistan and India to find solutions to the problems through dialogue.
