Decision to ban all types of plastic bags in Karachi

Karachi: The government has decided to ban the use and sale of all types of plastic bags within the limits of Karachi.

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that because of plastic bags, sewage lines and storm drains are blocked in Karachi. and this problem gets worse during rainy season.

He said that in this regard, it has been decided in principle that the necessary legislation will be passed at the provincial level to ban the use of all types of plastic bags made of microns in Karachi on the pattern of the federal capital Islamabad. Necessary steps should be taken at the level as well.

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that KMC and other civic organizations will fulfill their responsibilities and take all necessary measures to protect Karachi from environmental pollution and other problems and by preparing a joint strategy in this regard. It will be implemented without delay.
