Karachi: In the interbank market, the rupee continued to weaken against the dollar on Friday, while the value of the dollar remained unchanged at 279 rupees 69 paise in the open currency market.

During the interbank market, the value of the dollar fell by 30 paisa to Rs 278 18 paisa and later increased by 2 paisa to Rs 278 50 paisa.

But due to improvement in supply, the dollar interbank rate closed down by 10 paisa at Rs 278 38 paise at the close of business.

On the contrary, in the open currency market, the value of the dollar remained unchanged at the level of 279 rupees 69 paise.
