Lahore: It has been 48 years since Munoor Zarif, the renowned comedian, who was given the title of Emperor Zaraf, left his fans.

Manoor Zarif, who shared smiles and laughs during his long career, is seen being imitated and copied by the top comedians of Pakistan and Indian film industry even today.

Manoor Zarif, who brought smiles to the faces of the audience with his spontaneous acting, was born on 25 December 1940 in Gujranwala and inherited the art of comedy.

Manoor Zarif started his career with the film Dandiyan released in 1961, in this film he earned a name that new actors can only dream of.

The success of the films Heer Ranjha, Jeera Blade, Banarasi Thug in the 60s and 70s catapulted Manwarzarif into the ranks of superstar artists.

Munawar Zarif worked with all the comedians of his era but his pairing with Rangeela became very popular.

Along with acting, Munowar Zarif Jadidi’s getup was also unique, especially in women’s getup, he was no exception.

Manoor Zarif was also awarded the Nigar Award for Best Comedy Performance in Ishq Deewana, Baharu Phool Barsao and Zeenat.

Manoor Zarif acted in 325 films in his twenty-year career and died of a heart attack on April 29, 1976 at the age of 35.
