According to media reports, the local government of Milan, Italy, has submitted a legal bill to the assembly which, if approved, will ban the eating of ice cream at midnight next month.

The purpose of the ban is to prevent noisy groups on the streets in the middle of the night, which disturb the rest of other citizens.

The ban will also apply to takeaway food such as pizza and beverages.

The city’s deputy mayor, Marco Granelli, said the ban aims to strike a balance between social, recreational activities and the peace and quiet of residents.
