Order to remove encroachments from roads and footpaths across the country

The Supreme Court Karachi Registry has issued a written order in the Karachi encroachment case.

The Supreme Court has ordered the removal of encroachments from roads and footpaths across the country. A copy of the order has been ordered to be sent to the Attorney General, all Advocate Generals and all government agencies.

Pemra has also been ordered to publish and broadcast a public service message in this regard.

According to the Supreme Court order, the federal and provincial governments must remove encroachments from roads and footpaths within 3 days.

Besides, a 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa disposed of 46 cases in 5 days.

Most of the cases disposed of were pending in the Supreme Court for 15 years. From April 22 to 26, 49 cases were scheduled for hearing at the Supreme Court Registry.
