Pakistan squad announced for Azlan Shah Hockey Cup, Shakil Butt appointed captain

Pakistan’s 18-member squad for the Azlan Shah Hockey Cup has been announced. Shakil Butt will lead the national team while Abu Bakr will be his deputy.

Two goal keepers Abdullah and Muneebur Rehman have been included in the squad.

The players include Osama Bashir, Ehtesham, Abdullah, Sufyan, Salman Razzak, Arshad Liaquat.

Moin Shakeel, Zakaria Hayat, Murtaza Yaqub, Ghazanfar Ali, Abdul Rahman Sr., Hanan Shahid, Rana Waheed, Ejaz Ahmed also managed to make it to the squad.

7 reserve players have also been included in the national squad.

Head coach Roland Oltmans said that looking at the current talent, he tried to prepare the best team. Those who are not part of the team should work harder.

The head coach of Pakistan Hockey Team said that our target is the Nations Hockey Cup. There may be a change in the team for the Nations Cup after Azlan Shah.
