Washington: Michigan’s graduation ceremony had to be suspended due to protests in American educational institutions against the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
According to the international news agency, at the graduation ceremony at the University of Michigan, students chanted in favor of the Palestinians and condemned the Israeli aggression.
The students held up banners with anti-Israel slogans and demands for the US to withdraw its support for Israel.
Michigan police fired tear gas to disperse the students and assaulted the students, injuring several students. The students also clashed with the police.
Clashes between students and police led to the graduation ceremony becoming chaotic and the ceremony had to be suspended for a few hours.
At the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, students also demonstrated in favor of the Palestinians, during which tensions arose. Police raided student camps and arrested many.
It should be remembered that the demonstrations in favor of Palestine in American universities are getting longer. Police have arrested more than 2 thousand students in total so far.
