The original message of the month of fasting

The month of fasting has fallen on us. This blessed month clears our life which gets messed up due to minor and major sins throughout the year and trains us physically, mentally and spiritually. This madrasa month of grief, sympathy, sacrifice and sacrifice also teaches us to use our resources along with our abilities to make the life of the forced, starving, helpless and helpless humanity easier, learned and effective.

Our beloved master, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (pbuh) once announced the arrival of this month of Mubarak as follows: “Listen! Listen! The month of Ramadan comes to you. This month is a blessed month, the fasting of which Allah has made obligatory upon you, in which the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the rebellious devils are bound. And there is one blessed night in it, which is better than a thousand months, and if it is deprived of its blessings, then consider that it is useless.” (Nisa’i, Kitab al-Soom)

Paradise is decorated to welcome the month of Ramadan, whose inhabitants will be believers. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) says: “To welcome the month of Ramadan, Paradise is decorated all year round and when Ramadan comes, Paradise says, ‘O Allah! Make your servants special for me in this month.”

That is why the Holy Prophet said on one occasion: “Take special care of Ramadan because it is the month of Allah Almighty which is blessed and exalted.” He has left for you eleven months in which you eat and drink and enjoy all kinds of pleasures, but He has made one month special for Himself.

Ramadan Mubarak has also been called “Sayyid al-Shahoor” meaning the ruler of all months. This month is a month of countless blessings. In this month we should prepare ourselves for our spiritual and physical maturity.

Hazrat Ayesha narrates: “During Ramadan, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to tighten his waist and put in all his effort and hard work.”

It is also mentioned about the state of worship of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that during night worship, his chest used to fall in front of Allah. The heart used to boil and the sound of gurgling was heard in the chest like the sound produced by the boiling of a turkey.” (Shamail Tirmidhi)

The reward of every good deed increases in Ramadan Kareem. About the reward in this holy month, Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: “Your Lord says that the reward of every good deed is from ten times to seven hundred times, and the worship of fasting is especially mine.” and I myself will reward him or I myself will avenge him.” (Tirmidhi, Chapters of Al-Soom)

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Two joys are destined for the fasting person, one joy he gets when he breaks his fast and the other joy will be when he meets his Lord because of the fast.” (Bukhari Kitab al-Soom)

Fasting is a means of attaining the supplications of the angels and seeking forgiveness in favor of man.

On one occasion he said: “Angels ask for forgiveness day and night for those who fast.”

We who indulge in sins all year round. Orders turn away from the divine. For us, the fasts of this holy month are the best opportunity to get rid of sins. Hazrat Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever worships in the month of Ramadan in a state of faith with reward and sincerity will be cleansed of his sins as it was on that day when he The mother gave birth to him.” (Nasai, Kitab al-Soom)

He said: “This is the month of patience and the reward of patience is Paradise.”

The Prophet ﷺ said: “On the first night of Ramadan, Allah orders his heaven to get ready for my servant and go to Khub bin Sunwar. It is possible that whoever is tired of the world, may want to come to my house and to me.” (Collection of Al-Zawaid)

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “If a person fasts for one day according to his pleasure and desire, then he is given gold equal to the weight of the earth, it will not be equal to his reward on the Day of Reckoning.” (Al-Targheeb and Al-Tarheeb)

Hazrat Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) declared Ramadan to be the best of all months in terms of worship and said: “He who worships in the month of Ramadan in a state of faith and keeping account of himself, gets up and worships at night. He is cleansed of his sins as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him.” (Sunan Nasa’i)

In this age, everyone is suffering from scarcity of sustenance and complains about it. This holy month gives us relief from scarcity of sustenance. Hazrat Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said in reference to Ramadan: “It is a month in which the sustenance of a believer is increased.”

Allah has blessed us with Ramadan. We should take full advantage of this blessed opportunity and please our Patron. We should also pledge that we will live our entire lives on the principles of Islam as taught by the Prophet.

We will devote our resources as well as our talents to the suffering humanity. We will create a society in which no human being will be hungry and we will try to raise his standard of living and he will also live in peace.

Our effort should be to restore the self-esteem of God’s creation, which has been badly damaged by poverty. We must use our talents to eradicate class discrimination and economic inequality. May Allah help us. Amen
