Islamabad: The Power Division rubbished reports of fixed tax on solar power.

According to Express News, the Power Division has issued a statement saying that there is no truth in the news of imposition of fixed tax on solar power, the Central Power Purchasing Agency or the Power Division has not sent any such summary to the government.

In the statement, it has been said that rich people are installing solar panels without limit, including domestic and industrial consumers, the government is also not having to pay the burden of Rs. Crores of poor consumers are being affected, this Rs 1.90 is going out of the pockets of the poor and into the pockets of the middle and rich class.

The statement said that the aim of the net metering policy of 2017 was to promote alternative energy in the system. The entire system is being studied, suggestions and amendments are being considered to save the poor from further burden.

The announcement further said that one and a half to two lakh net metering customers will protect their investments.
