7 stolen vehicles recovered from Rawalpindi including stolen official Vigo

Vehicles recovered from Landi Kotal, Charsadda and Peshawar, two car lifters arrested

Police of Rawalpindi’s New Town police station recovered the stolen official double cabin vehicle of provincial education minister Gilgit Balistan Ghulam Shehzad Agha from D Block Satellite Town and arrested the accused.

The accused belong to an organized group of car thieves from whose possession six other vehicles have also been recovered.

Provincial Minister of Education Gilgit Balistan Ghulam Shehzad Agha’s official double cabin Vigo vehicle was stolen from outside his residence in D Block Satellite Town in March 2024.

The police team tracked down the active inter-provincial gang of car thieves by tracking the incident through closed circuit cameras CCTV footage and human intelligence and raided marker gangs in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Landi Kotal, Kharsda and Peshawar in Rawalpindi. The members of Yasir and Tariq etc. were arrested and six other vehicles were recovered including the stolen official vehicle of the Provincial Education Minister Gilgit Balistan.

The accused wanted to take the provincial minister’s car out of Rawalpindi and move it to Landi Kotal so that the sit-in would take place. After stealing the double cabin vehicles, the accused used to deliver them to Lindi Kotal and Charsadda for Rs 7 to 8 lakh and Mehran cars for Rs 2 to 2.5 lakh.
